St. Charles Parish Clerk Marino seeking fall re-election

HAHNVILLE — St. Charles Parish Clerk of Court Lance Marino announced his intention to run for re-election in October.

“I have dedicated my adult life to public service, first as your Councilman and now as your Clerk of Court,” he said. “I am grateful to you for giving me the opportunity to serve.”
During his first year in office Marino became a Certified Clerk by completing the Louisiana State Certification Program established by the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association in record time.
His wife Mary Waguespack Marino is a licensed physical therapist at St. Charles Parish Hospital.
“This year Mary and I happily celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary,” Marino said. “We have four children: Jacob, 21; Elena, 19; Rachel, 17; and Dominic, 15. Our older two are students at LSU and our younger two are at Destrehan High School. We are parishioners of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. I am a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Red Church Council No. 3634.”
Marino is a graduate of Destrehan High School. He said he worked his way through Louisiana State University and the University of New Orleans, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with an emphasis in creative writing.
“As your Clerk of Court, I have ushered in an era of modernization at the Clerk’s office, as promised,” he said. “The St. Charles Parish Clerk’s Office now has a fully functioning website, email for all staff members (which was previously unavailable), new computer equipment and Wi-Fi enabled high-speed internet service.
“All historical records are being safeguarded and are in the process of being digitized. On election night, returns are posted online and on local cable access TV as soon as available. Electronic access of records is more available than ever before to the public, the legal community and the courts. All of this while working within and scrupulously managing a finite fee-driven budget, which does not include any tax dollars. I have overseen these state-of-the-art improvements while insuring that the courteous, competent staff at the clerk’s office continues its tradition of quality personal service.
