LAPLACE — Kurt Becnel announced his candidacy for St. John the Baptist Parish Councilman District 1, where he is proud to say he has resided his entire life.

“If elected, I can say this with confidence, I will be visible, accessible and attentive to the needs, issues and concerns of my constituents,” Becnel said.

Becnel is a manager at IMPCO Inc. (Industrial Maintenance Products Company) in Edgard, where he has been employed for 33 years.

Becnel is an Independent Associate for Legal Shield, Inc. and founder of Becnel Consulting Group, LLC.

“I served as a commissioner on the St. John the Baptist Planning & Zoning Board for eight years from 2003 to 2011,” Becnel said. “I am the Treasurer for the Wallace Indians Organization.”

Becnel is a graduate of West St. John High School (Class of 1979) and a graduate of Nicholls State University with a degree in General Business.

“I need your support in accomplishing the vision I have for District I,” Becnel said.
