Gwendolyn Tru Arcuri, 67, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, surrounded by family and dear friends at her home.

She was born in Hattiesburg, Miss., and was a LaPlace resident for the past 42 years.

Arcuri is the beloved wife of Deacon Dominic “Mixie” Arcuri; the devoted mother of Leigh Ann Arcuri of LaPlace and Laura Arcuri of Jackson, Miss.; grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren: Linley Kennedy, Lucy Kennedy, Carter Kennedy and Wesley Holman; daughter of the late John Albert Rodgers and Kathleen Victoria Bullard Rodgers; and sister of Ann Crapps (Billy) of Morton, Miss., and the late John Albert Rodgers Jr.

The family would like to thank Sonya Badon, Ericka Davis, Linell Hale and Wanda Watts for their loving care.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 West Airline Highway in LaPlace on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 6 until 9 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St. in LaPlace on Thursday, Aug. 13 at noon. Visitation in the church prior to Mass begins at 9 a.m.

Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred in her memory to the Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org or the American Diabetes Association www.diabetes.org.
