HAHNVILLE — St. Charles Parish Assistant Director of Public Works Bob Dublan was recently chosen as one of six award recipients, honoring his support of the civil service system.

The Civil Service League, a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement of merit systems in public employment, will present the 50th annual Monte M. Lemann Award to Dublan in a private ceremony at New Orleans’ Doubletree Hotel on Oct. 16.

“Mr. Dublan exemplifies the basis of the Lemann Award by being a leader in upholding the principles of the Civil Service System,” St. Charles Parish Personnel Officer Sandra Zimmer said. “He has used his experience in the system to work with myself and the Civil Service Board to revise departmental rules and help administer them consistently in his department.”

Dublan of Hahnville has served the government of St. Charles Parish for nearly 20 years in Public Works, where he was first employed as a mechanic. He later advanced to quality assurance coordinator.

In 2004, he was appointed assistant superintendent. Dublan currently serves as assistant director of the department.
