BOUTTE — Police are looking for two men believed responsible for stealing an 81-year-old woman’s wallet.

St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said it appears two black males inside the Boutte Walmart coordinated a distraction, which led to the theft July 30.

One suspect distracted the female while the other one went into the victim’s purse and stole her wallet, Champagne said. The two males left the store in a sedan, headed towards Jefferson Parish on U.S. 90.

“On the same date at about 5:40 p.m., the two unknown males entered Home Depot in Marrero and used the victim’s credit card in the amount of $800, purchasing two $400 gift cards,” Champagne said. “They also purchased a $700 A/C unit with an unknown credit card.”

Authorities ask anyone with information on the identity of the two suspects to contact Detective Chris Baird with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.
