WALLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Creole Farmers Market will close for the next five weeks.

Parish officials announced the move today, saying the market, located at the foot of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Wallace, is closed until Sept. 12 due to extreme heat.

The market will reopen Sept. 12, with a variety of fruit and vegetable options for the fall. Market hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Creole Farmers Market is funded through the Economic Development Department and offers quality and homegrown products with friendly service and fair prices.
