The River Region Chamber of Commerce and Marathon Petroleum Company hosted an Education Awards Luncheon recently for the St. John the Baptist Public School System, honoring exemplary students, teachers and principals for their academic and professional accomplishments.

The students of the year are Victoria Scott of Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School, Skiler Cornish of LaPlace Elementary School and Aubrey Stewart of East St. John High School.

Teachers of the year are Lynn Jamieson of LaPlace Elementary School, Natalie Klibert of John L. Ory Communications Magnet Elementary School and Claude Hill Jr. of East St. John High School.

The principal of the year is Antoinette Robinet of Emily C. Watkins Elementary School.  Sponsors were Marathon Petroleum, Entergy and Nalco.
