HAHNVILLE — Buddy Boe has been named a Certified Louisiana Economic Developer by the LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business/Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute – Executive Education, Louisiana Department of Economic Development and the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association.

The Louisiana Economic Development Certification Program is designed for economic development professionals, Chamber of Commerce staff, elected officials and civic leaders interested in best business practices in the field of economic development.

In addition to attending the required courses, a term paper on an economic development case study must have been submitted, reviewed and approved by the staff.

Boe’s paper, focused on the redevelopment of the Paul Maillard Corridor on the West Bank of St. Charles Parish, was titled, “Corridor Revitalization: Making History Relevant Again.”

“After several years working towards this goal, it is an honor to join a great group of people whose main focus is growing and creating opportunities for the residents of Louisiana by fostering economic growth,” Boe said.

“At a time of such economic uncertainty around the nation, Louisiana continues to make tremendous strides at developing a diverse economy to support our communities. I plan to continue to work with my partners at the local, regional and state levels to attract and retain jobs in our communities.”

The Certified Louisiana Economic Developer certification is valid for three years.

Thereafter, CLED professionals must reapply and continue to meet the certification requirements set forth by the board.

“The relationships created through this program will definitely be the foundation on which the future of Louisiana is built,” Boe said. “The network of CLED professionals simultaneously working together to foster a climate of economic opportunity will mean great things for Louisiana’s future and jobs for our people.”

Boe serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for St. Charles Parish and was recently selected as the Outreach Coordinator for the Louisiana SuperRegion Rail Authority, the government agency tasked with creating passenger rail opportunities from Baton Rouge to New Orleans.

Earlier this year, Boe was elected chairman of the National Association of Counties NextGen Network. Additionally, Boe was selected to represent Louisiana in the 2015 cohort of the Delta Leadership Institute Executive Academy organized by the Delta Regional Authority.
