Sedonia Cureaux Frederick

Sedonia Cureaux Frederick, 88, a former resident of Garyville, departed this life on May 31, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sedonia, affectionately called “See,” was born on Oct. 21, 1926, to the late Ernest Cureaux Sr. and Florence Berkeley in Garyville.
Sedonia accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion #2 Church by the late Rev. Tony Smith. In August of 1945, Sedonia was united in marriage to Joseph Frederick. To this union two children were born: Earl Frederick and Ervin Frederick.
Sedonia leaves to cherish her sweet memories: two sons, Earl (Clementine) Frederick Sr. of Las Vegas and Ervin (Elsie) Frederick of San Pablo, California; seven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Duhe and Anita Perrilloux of Reserve; one brother, Earl Cureaux of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Our beloved Sedonia was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Cureaux Sr. and Florence Berkeley Cureaux; husband, Joseph Frederick; sister, Vivian Cambre Ellis; brothers, Ernest Cureaux, Jr. and Willie Cureaux, Sr.; niece, Vanessa Dright; and nephew, Kenneth Duhe.
Arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Mortuary of Las Vegas. Funeral services were administered by Bishop Tyrone L. Seals.
Interment was in St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Reserve, and local arrangements were provided by Hobson Brown Funeral Home in Garyville.
There was a private graveside ceremony at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Reserve given by the Rev. Christopher Chike Amadi, pastor of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, on Tuesday, June 23.
