EDGARD — A call reporting an alleged domestic disturbance Sunday in Edgard ended in two arrests and the recovery of a stolen handgun.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 200 block of Amp Circle in Edgard at 4:33 a.m. Sunday after a female called and reported her boyfriend was beating her.

When deputies arrived, they heard two subjects in a mobile home engaged in a verbal disagreement, Sheriff Mike Tregre said in a release. Deputies identified the male as Tommy Poche, 39.

“The female subject gave deputies a fictitious name, but later deputies identified her as Amber Glaub, 37,” Tregre said, adding deputies observed no signs Glaub was beaten.

Deputies recovered a handgun in the couple’s bedroom, Tregre said, adding the handgun was reported stolen in St. Charles Parish in March.

A computer check of Poche and Glaub revealed both were convicted felons, and Glaub was wanted on outstanding warrants in St. James and Jefferson Parishes.

Poche, who authorities said has been arrested 15 times in St. John Parish since 1997, was arrested and booked him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.

As of press time Tuesday morning, he remained in custody on a parole hold and a $24,500 bond set by Judge Madeline Jasmine.

Glaub was arrested and booked with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, resisting a deputy and on fugitive warrants for St. James and Jefferson Parishes.

As of press time Tuesday morning, she remained in custody in lieu of a $26,000 bond set by Jasmine.

Both bonds contain a “no 10 percent” attachment, which Sgt. Dane Clement said means 10 percent of the total couldn’t be posted for release, unlike other bonds. He said the judge who sets the bond discretionarily uses the option.
