Roy Anthony Vicknair Jr., 78, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:30 p.m.
He was a native of New Orleans, resident of LaPlace and former resident of Houma.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22 from 10 a.m. until funeral time at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 22 at noon at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
Vicknair is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Ann Waguespack Vicknair, LaPlace; daughters Ann Vicknair Summers and husband, Leonard “Len” of Houma, Judy Vicknair Howie of Montz, and Diane Vicknair Espenan and husband, Alfred “Al” of LaPlace; brothers Raymond Vicknair and wife, Bonnie, Edward Vicknair and wife, Ruby; sister, Clare Vicknair Bernard and husband, Joseph “Joe”; grandchildren Lynsey Achee Frechou, Ashley Achee, Aaron Espenan, Dylan Howie, and Morgan Espenan; great-grand daughter, Riley Frechou.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Anthony Sr. and Clare Rose Zabala Vicknair.
He was a member/parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace.
Vicknair retired in 1999 from KHOM/KTIB after 40 years in radio broadcasting. He was a former member of the Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, Better Business Bureau and a lector-commentator and council member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
He was a part time videographer. His passion was taking family photos and videos. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
