BATON ROUGE — Reserve’s own Nolan Scott Jr. playing the role of Uncle Otis and a mystery guest performing the role of Aunt Nellie highlight the upcoming performance of “Lord, If I Can Help Somebody…,” which will take the stage at 3 p.m. June 28 at the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St. in Baton Rouge.
Director and playwright JaVon Ophelia Butler said the fun and life-changing production has touched the hearts of many as they experienced the message of the play: “Helping Somebody.”
Butler produces the show and choreographs the dances. The cast consists of many actresses, actors, singers and the Anointed Tribe of Judah Praise Dancers, who all help make the production a success.
Butler will appear on Cox 4’s Across Louisiana. The show will air at 7 a.m. Saturday through June 26.
The production gives back to the community by choosing a charity to donate a portion of ticket proceeds to, and the American Heart Association has been tabbed for the June 28 show.
Tickets can be purchased at manshiptheatre.org or by going to the Manship Theatre.
