GARYVILLE — State officials said the traffic signal light at the intersection of Airline Highway and Louisiana 54 in Garyville would be turned on early next week.

State Rep. Clay Schexnayder, R-Gonzales said the residents of Reserve, Garyville and Mount Airy have been waiting to see the traffic signal for more than a year.

“It is a pleasure to inform them that work on the light has been completed,” he said Thursday. “The light at this intersection will create an ease in traffic in the area, and we will see our roads run smoother and more efficiently.”
