Lucien Gauff running for assessor of St. John Parish

LAPLACE — Lucien Gauff III announced his candidacy for Assessor of St. John the Baptist Parish. The three-day qualifying period for the ballot begins Sept. 8. The election is Oct. 24.

Gauff is the Division A Councilman-at-Large on the St. John the Baptist Parish Council. He is also employed with Dupont Performance Elastomers in Reserve, where he has worked as an operator for 21 years.
As assessor, Gauff said he will “build competency and promote efficient, effective integration of the most up-to-date technology in the day-to-day business of the office, while implementing the best practices for making this technology accessible to the public.”
A lifelong resident of LaPlace, Gauff has been a member of the Board of Governors at River Parish Hospital and the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of America.
He said he regularly volunteers with the St. John the Baptist Parish School System through the School-to-Career program and the Dr. Seuss Read-Across-America program, and serves as Dupont’s Site Safety Activities Coordinator and as member of Dupont’s Near Neighbor and Community Advisory Panel programs.
