St. Peter Chanel students take 1st

PAULINA — Ten students — including five first-place champions — from St. Peter Chanel School in Paulina were named winners in the 2015 U.S. Try Prayer! It Works! contest, a national competition encouraging students to express their faith through art, poetry and prose.

The students were selected from nearly 2,000 finalists in the 20th annual contest.

Highlighted students are Walker LeBlanc and Remy Lambert, who tied for first place in the Grade 1 category; Connor Lambert and Noah Detillier, who tied for first place in the Grade 5 division; fourth grader Carson LeBlanc, who won first place in her group; second grader Rustin Poche, who tied for third place; third grader Faith Holley, who was a third-place winner; fourth grader Cole Poche, who won second place; fifth grader Maria Detillier, who finished in second place; and Erin Richard, a seventh grader who tied for second place.
