The public is invited to the 17th annual Get High on Life Memorial Day Breakfast at 8 a.m. at the KC Home, 346 Fir St. in LaPlace, where organizers will pay tribute to the men and women who served and defended the many freedoms we enjoy. St. James Parish Hospital’s Ideal Protein Clinic will host a summer seminar at 5:30 p.m. to offer a brief explanation of the program and free samples at the Medical Plaza Community Room next to the hospital. Call 225-258-2014.

The River Region Chamber of Commerce invites the public to a Business Card Shuffle and Networking Event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Chamber’s office, 390 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace. Enjoy an evening of networking, food and fun, while building relationships and growing a business. Get a chance to meet some the area’s Young Entrepreneurs.

St. John Theatre’s Children’s Theater Workshop runs from June 1–12 at the theater in Reserve. Children will be introduced to musical theater through Cinderella KIDS. The workshop culminates with a production June 12. Children having completed fifth grade are encouraged to attend. The St. Charles Catholic High School Youth Weightlifting Camp will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday for five weeks June 1–July 3 from 9 to 10 a.m. each day at the SCC weight room.
