Charles Donald “Dondee” Roussel, 85, a native and resident of Paulina, died on Friday, May 8, 2015.

He was born on July 23, 1929, and was a veteran of the United States Marines and retired from Freeport-McMoran Company.

He was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to so many who will miss him dearly.

Roussel is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Murphy Roussel; sons Ricky (Tricia) and Mark (Traci); daughters Joan (Trent) Sheets, Michelle (Derek) Roddy and Kelli (Tory) Poche; grandchildren Angie Berthelot, Lanny Remondet, Adam, Ory and Ali Roussel, Cody Sheets, Katie Ficklin, Kelci and Karli Roussel, Colten and Emma Poche; seven great grandchildren; sister Grace Taylor; brother Francis (Audrey); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Eleanor Roussel; daughter Wanda Remondet; and brothers Robert Emmett and Shirley Roussel.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 11, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Home, 1870 Cabanose Ave. in Lutcher.

Visitation continues Tuesday, May 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina from 9 until 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
