Mothers invited to Proper English Tea

DESTREHAN — The River Region Arts & Humanities Council is hosting “A Proper English Tea — With a Southern Accent” from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ormond Plantation, 13783 River Road in Destrehan.

Members and the general public are invited to attend this Mother’s Day fundraising event.

Tea committee members are inviting all mothers, daughters, sisters and friends to attend, as this is the day before Mother’s Day.

Live music will be performed by talented students from area schools.

Silent auction items will feature jewelry from Roussel’s Fine Jewelry and Gifts and from Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, and there will also be an auction of an original painting by a local artist.

The ticket price is $40 per person and includes a full English Tea and complimentary champagne.
