LAPLACE — Buddy Boe of LaPlace was elected chairman of the National Association of Counties NextGen Network of over 275 members.

The Network provides a grassroots forum for young county and parish officials to network, become engaged in NACo and develop a new generation of association leaders.

“Our next year will be a year of growth, education and innovation as we work to build the largest network of NACo and create opportunities for our members to enhance their public service through programs, educational opportunities and leverage at the local, regional and national level,” Boe said following his election.

Additionally, Boe was selected as a member representing Louisiana of the 2015 cohort of the Delta Leadership Institute Executive Academy organized by the Delta Regional Authority.

The Delta Leadership Institute is designed to improve the decisions made by leaders across the region by strengthening leadership capacity and mutual understanding of regional, state and local cultures and issues.

“It’s an honor to represent Louisiana and work with fellow community leaders from around America’s Delta region as we explore solutions to poverty, health, and distressed economies,” Boe said.

“My hope is to bring best practices back to the River Region and Louisiana to continue to improve our quality of life.”

Boe serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for St. Charles Parish.

In his role, he was involved in the efforts to fight large increases in flood insurance, construct parish flood protection and was recently selected as the Outreach Coordinator for the Louisiana SuperRegion Rail Authority, the government agency tasked with creating passenger rail opportunities from Baton Rouge to New Orleans.
