John Claude Chauvin, 24, of LaPlace graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island on April 3. PFC Chauvin successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego/Parris Island as one of 64 recruits in 3rd Batallion, Lima Company, Training Platoon 3021. While in recruit training, Chauvin achieved Expert Rifleman. Chauvin will report to Camp LeJeune for one month at Military Combat Training then Military Occupation Specialty school.
