Otis Joseph Kliebert

Otis Joseph Kliebert had a great long journey of life. He knew his time here on Earth was getting shorter and loved everybody who he met along the way.

Kliebert passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. He was born on Dec. 26, 1921, in Paulina, and at the time of his death he resided in Convent. He had a passion of working the land and was a farmer for most of his life.

Kliebert is survived by his only daughter, Rosalind Kliebert Trosclair; brother Buhel Kliebert (Grace); and four grandchildren Rene Trosclair III (Maria), Joseph Trosclair (Brooke), Luke Trosclair (Kristen), Anthony Trosclair (Maeghan). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Claire, Olivia, Ava, Leah and Cadi.

Kliebert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen Melancon Kliebert; son-in-law Rene Trosclair Jr.; father Leon Joseph Kliebert Sr.; mother Elvina Bourgeois Kliebert; brothers Leon Kliebert Jr., Allen Kliebert and Garland Kliebert; and sisters Amy Kliebert Michilli, Eunice Kliebert Lucia, Rose Kliebert Ballay, Gertrude Kliebert and Velma Kliebert.

He will be greatly missed by neighbors, friends, family and all who knew him. Thank you all for being a part of his life and all that you have done for him.

Visitation will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church on Wednesday, April 29 from 8 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the church in Convent. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Convent.
