South Central Louisiana Technical College, Reserve Campus is in the workforce development business.
The business of providing training and education needed to develop a workforce demanded of the industries and businesses of its service area. Employable citizens are the foundation for a community to offer the services needed and expected for a good quality of life.
The programs available for enrollment at the Reserve Campus include Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Business Office Administration, Welding, Industrial Maintenance, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Instrumentation and Process Technology.
These programs are by design responding to the workforce demands of the area. Providing programs that enable our students to be immediately employable within the area of their homes and address their lifestyle goals is a large component to our mission.
However, informing potential students of the opportunities of these degrees and providing them with employment information upon completion is the total package that we offer.
The recent Career Link activity was for the purpose of informing high school students of the education opportunities on the Reserve Campus. On April 23, from 3 to 6 p.m., we will be hosting our spring Career Fair. This is for our students currently enrolled to have the opportunity to meet potential employers and for our graduates to begin the engagement of the job-seeking process.
This Career Fair is highly attended by businesses and industries of the River Region seeking applicants with the education and skills acquired at our college. If you are a business partner and would like to participate in this event, contact Penny Freeman at 985-536-4418 or penelopefreeman@scl.edu.
As spring brings to mind something “new,” know that we are in the process of bringing the summer and fall semester class offerings’ schedules to a reality. If you are thinking of something new in the health care area, we will be offering Certified Nurse Assistant during the summer session.
This is a great opportunity to get those skills in a short period of time and utilize them immediately. This certification will also provide for you to continue with the Patient Care Tech program in the fall and receive that certification by December.
This is just another great opportunity to spring yourself forward. If you want more information on these classes, contact Jaime Falgout at 985-536-4418, ext. 251.
We offer personal tours and consultations about our campus and its offerings. If you are interested in learning more about South Central Louisiana Technical College, Reserve Campus, contact us at 985-536-4418.
