Organizers with St. Charles Parish Hospital collected 758 jars (most pictured at left) of peanut butter from participants of last weekend’s Krewe of Lul and Krewe of Des Allemands. The haul easily tops last year’s 502 jars and sets a record, according to Quinn Landry, who said the hospital also collected $465 in cash.

“St. Charles Parish Hospital would like to once again thank everyone who donated and for their assistance in helping the needy of the parish,” Landry said. “St. Charles Parish Hospital would also like to thank all of its volunteers who helped collect donations during the parades.”

The donations will be split between Second Harvest Food Bank, which services five locations in St. Charles Parish, and St. Charles Social Concerns, which produces approximately 50 food baskets a month.
