HAHNVILLE — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is stepping up DWI enforcement over the next several days as part of the national campaign Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, sponsored by the LHSC and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

As part of the campaign, the Sheriff’s Office will increase the number of patrols conducted by its DWI Task Force.

The task force is made up of officers who patrol city streets with the sole purpose of targeting motorists who choose to drink and drive.

The campaign runs through Feb. 17 and will combine public awareness with high-visibility enforcement.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office’s participation in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is funded by a Louisiana Highway Safety Commission grant.
