Michel: Focus on 2015 with a good plan to start

“Wait for the focus!”

I hear that phrase every single time one of my daughters asks me to take a picture.

I must admit, it’s a valid plea. Because I rarely take the time to find my glasses to take pictures, I can’t tell the difference between a clear or blurry photograph on the screen.

I view life, and the New Year, much more seriously. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve taken the time to focus as I have evaluated my 2014 priorities, had the “State of Our Union” meeting with my husband, and made needed adjustments.

It’s almost time to turn the calendar page to 2015. The optimists among us view it as a huge gift which will slowly reveal itself.

The pessimists are waiting for social, economic or personal disaster. Some are just surprised that the world hasn’t already ended.

How do you view the New Year? Upon which goal will you focus in 2015? Restoration of a relationship? Starting or finishing a degree? Losing weight? Gaining financial freedom? Reading a book? Writing a book? Completing repairs on your home or taking a trip? What is it?

Enter the New Year with a clear vision and a definite goal. Develop a clear picture of what you would like to accomplish.

Write it down. Read it every morning.

Take daily steps toward your dream until you experience its completion.

One of the greatest blessings of this past year was sharing it with family and friends. I am so thankful for relationships that have withstood the test of time and new friends who have secured a place in my heart.

My life is enriched by people who support me through difficulties, rejoice with me in victories and season my life with prayers, words of wisdom and the comfort of their company.

While I marvel at God’s faithfulness in the past, I know that it is just a taste of the good things that He has in store for all of us.

May 2015 be filled with His tender mercies, His richest blessings and an ever-increasing presence of His Holy Spirit.
