LULING — Sounds of the holidays could be heard echoing in the halls of St. Charles Parish Hospital as the man himself, Santa Claus, paid a visit to nearly 200 excited children who had been looking forward to their meeting with jolly Saint Nick.
Prekindergarten and kindergarten students from Luling Elementary helped spread the holiday cheer by decorating the hospital’s holiday tree with handmade ornaments.
The tree will remain up outside the Oyster’s Pearl throughout the holiday season.
After decorating the tree, students were treated to freshly baked holiday cookies and juice as well as a small gift. The smiles only got bigger when Santa showed up and visited with each child, taking a photo with each one as a keepsake. To wrap up the festivities Santa joined the students in singing carols.
The Auxiliary at St. Charles Parish Hospital has hosted the Children’s Christmas Tree-Trimming Party for many years.
