LAPLACE- The River Region Chamber of Commerce will bring in the new year with a new home and office building on Belle Terre Boulevard.

Approaching eight years at their location on West Airline Highway in LaPlace, the Chamber took ownership of the new property Friday at 390 Belle Terre Blvd. in LaPlace, the home of the Chamber will continue to be in a centralized location between the three River Parishes.

Upon turning ten in 2014, the Chamber board and staff began seeking a new location, a home that would not only represent the remarkable growth of the Chamber since its founding but also serve as a symbol, Chamber officials said, of the continued progression and advancement of the Chamber and its business members.

Nathan Stein, the Chamber’s 2014 Chairman, said, “After a long and arduous search, I feel we have found a home for the River Region Chamber of Commerce that will shine as bright as the hundreds of businesses that we serve. I am truly proud of those involved in the search and acquisition. This is a historic accomplishment.”

The new building will aid the Chamber in furthering its mission to “Grow, Strengthen and Unify Businesses in the River Region.”

The building will house Chamber staff and offer a large conference room for training and meetings, along with a business resource center where members can receive counseling on issues related to their businesses.

Chassity McComack, Executive Director of the Chamber, said when she was hired ten years ago, she was asking the business leaders that started the Chamber where the office and the computer were.

“This accomplishment is testament to the growth of your Chamber,” McComack said. “Sincerest thanks to the members for their commitment in many ways that brings us to this new chapter.”
