Parish officials reported 18,000 people attended St. John the Baptist Parish’s 41st annual Andouille Festival last month, up from 15,000 the year before.

Denis Clement captured this picture of the event from an Experimental Light Sport Aircraft, known as a Powered Parachute.

It’s powered by a two stroke 65 HP Rotax engine, which is mainly seen on ultra light airplanes.

It flies between 25 and 35 mph and seats two, for about two hours of flying enjoyment.
