St. Charles — A St. John the Baptist Parish man is dead after a reported night of partying, authorities said.

Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said dispatchers received a call at 4:30 a.m. today regarding an unresponsive subject in the Bonnet Carre Spillway.

“The caller and the deceased person were out partying, according to the caller,” LaGrange said, adding the caller told investigators both men ended up in the Spillway and “passed out after a night of partying.”

“The caller said he woke up and noticed his friend was unresponsive,” LaGrange said.

No personal information will be released about either men until proper family notifications are made, authorities said.

LaGrange described both men as St. John Parish residents.

Detectives found no signs of foul play, and an autopsy is scheduled Saturday.
