A very special lady passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Oct. 15, 2014.

Eleanor Borne died peacefully at the home of her daughter Ann and son-in-law Clayton Miller in River Ridge.

Eleanor, born on May 9, 1913, was 101. She lived her early years in Garyville, and after her marriage to Sidney Joseph Borne, moved to LaPlace to raise their family of four children: Sidney Jr., Charles J. Borne, Ann Miller (Clay) and Virgie Collins (Ned).

Preceding her in death was her husband Sidney Sr. and her first born Sidney Jr., or “Butch.”

Also preceding her in death were her parents, Charles Falgoust and Cecile Mollere Falgoust, and her brothers, Pete Falgoust and Loisel Falgoust.

She has one grandchild, Jeffrey C. Miller, a resident of Mandeville.

Borne had a great, life-long trust in Jesus Christ and was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Harahan. Her sweetness and strong personal constitution was that of a bygone era.

She touched the hearts of everyone that knew her. She will be sadly missed, yet joyfully remembered by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the Chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy. in LaPlace on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m.

Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
