BOUTTE — The Digital Media Team Members at the St. Charles Satellite Center worked with the ARC of St. Charles to help clean out their greenhouse so they can begin planting their next crop of tomatoes.

The Team Members gathered and removed old plants, collected hanging clips and removed watering lines from planters.

They also sifted soil into small growing cups that will be used to plant seedlings.

René Schmit, Louisiana Master Gardner and St. Charles Parish County Agent, supervised Team Members during the clean up.

He talked about the process they use to grow the tomatoes and some of the factors that impact the plants.

He also explained the purpose of the greenhouse in the community and the vital role it plays in assisting the residents of St. Charles Parish.
