LAPLACE — Simmone Williams started her business online a year ago and this month opened her first storefront in her hometown, Yvonne’s Boutique at 2809 Highway 51 in LaPlace.

The location offers stylish clothing, accessories, handbags and shoes for fashionable women.

“I have always wanted to work independently and always loved fashion,” Williams said. “My grandmother also loved fashion. My boutique is named after her.”

Williams said she traveled to Los Angeles and New York to meet with potential vendors, and she offers custom orders for weddings, proms, carnival balls and special items.

“If you find it online, I will do my best to order it for you,” Williams said.

“I am here to help each customer.”

Yvonne’s Boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and by appointment on Sundays.

The rear of her shop is a wedding corner, where Williams assembles bouquets and provides all items needed for a party.

Williams was recently joined for a ribbon cutting by St. John Parish President Natalie Robottom, administrative  staff, economic development committee members and River Region Chamber of Commerce Communications staff.

From an outfit to a corsage, Williams said her location is a one stop shop for all, including plus sizes.
