Daniel Robert “Lomac” Heltz, 66, entered eternal rest on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at 8:25 p.m. after a courageous battle with end stage renal disease.
He was the beloved husband of Jane Duhe Heltz for 43 years; beloved father of Danielle H. Freeman and Loni H.Bourgeois; father-in-law of Philip Bourgeois; grandfather of Carl Freeman Jr., Kallie and Kasey Bourgeois; son of the late Richard and Clara Loupe Heltz; brother of Richard “Jay” (Monica), Clarence Donald (Roline), Michael “Mickey” (Lotus), Ronnie, Cameron “Lamb Chop” (Beth) Heltz, Gerrie Laiche (Donald) and the late Diana H. Duhe and Nancy H. Bourgeois (Septime), “Tim;” brother-in-law of Manton “Slim” Duhe; godson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Heltz; and godfather of Donald Heltz Jr.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a native of Garyville and resident of Reserve.
Relatives and friends, also employees of Pellerin-Milnor Corp., LA Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries and Quality Inn-LaPlace, are invited to attend services.
Visitation at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace, LA is Tuesday Sept. 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve at 10 a.m. The burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
