NORCO — The River Region Drama Guild will hold a theatre workshop for novices and veterans 16 and up who want to take to the stage, enjoy theater games, improvisation and best of all, laughter and fun.

The free workshops will be held for four Wednesday evenings beginning Sept. 3rd and ending Sept. 24 at the River Region Performing Arts and Cultural Center, 15146 River Road in Norco.

For additional information, call Henry Sorbet at 504-331-0990.

Novices will learn the basic techniques of stage acting: using voice, body and mind to pursue objectives, overcome obstacles, create characters and scenes and work as an ensemble.

Veterans will have the opportunity to expand performance skills and develop acting technique.

The staff will introduce the basics of acting through improvisational games and skits.

Participants will be paired up with appropriate partners for scenes. Participants are on their feet in every class, and each session contains games, scene work, specific assignment and cool-down.

The group will pick a play that will allow all participants to have an active role. On the final evening of the workshop, the play will be performed for friends and family.
