Michael D. Reeves, 56, died on Monday, August 4, 2014.

He was a servant of the Lord, and his life was devoted to bringing people to the knowledge of the saving Grace of Jesus Christ.

He was the beloved husband of Natalie Swisher Reeves, father of Madison Reeves Roussel (Robert), Michael D. Reeves II and Olivia G. Reeves, son of the late Edward and Wanda Reeves, son-in-law of John and Kathleen Swisher and brother of the late Gary S. Reeves.

He is also survived by sisters- and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the pastor of First Baptist Church of Reserve for 12 yrs and retired after 36 years from Marathon Petroleum Corp.

He was a native of Texas and a resident of LaPlace.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services.

Visitation is at First Baptist Church of LaPlace, 120 Ormond Blvd. in LaPlace from 8:30 to 11 a.m., followed by services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7.

Burial is at in St. John Memorial Gardens in LaPlace.

Arrangements are being handled by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace.
