LAPLACE — Piranha Swim Team earned its second win of the season Monday, toppling visiting LaVacherie, 304.5-235.5 and doubling the Piranhas’ win total from a year ago.
Alexandra Rutledge, Chris Hammett and Colton Duhon each took three first place wins for the Piranhas (2-2).
Tyra Watkins earned two wins for PST while Nathaniel Carter, Cole Volion, Calix Hammett, Eli Boudreaux, Colby Watkins, Jeremiah Emery, Reece Reinbolt, Noah Williams and Cari Jane Roussel rounded out the team’s winners.
“It’s such a huge win,” PST coach Blaine Tatje said. “It really solidified everything we’ve been working for. Last year we lost by more than 100, and this year we won by 80. I never expected that kind of a swing.”
Tatje credited the dedication of the swimmers.
“The biggest thing, absolutely,” Tatje said. “They want this team to be successful.”
