LAPLACE — Piranha Swim Team led early, but a strong performance in the breaststroke event by Sun Villa ultimately set the tone for a Sharks 295.5-231.5 win over PST.
Alexandra Rutledge and Christopher Hammett led PST with three victories each.
Colton Duhon captured two first place finishes while Cole Volion, D.J. Joseph, Calix Hammett, Kyla Cage, Olivia LeBouef, Madison Falgoust and Victoria Upshaw each took one for the Piranhas.
“I thought it was a great meet,” said PST coach Blaine Tatje. “We saw a lot of improvement again. We’re not too far from where we want to be.”
Tatje said that he and his fellow PST coaches Hailey Montz and Kelsey Tatje were most pleased with the enthusiasm the Piranhas showed throughout the meet.
“Everything’s been so positive,” said Tatje. “Every aspect of it since, really, the renaming and rebranding of the team last season. Everyone is so into the meet and pulling together at every turn. It’s been very rewarding.”
PST moved to 1-2 on the season.
