Rosalie Amato Heltz, 77, went to spend eternity with our Lord and her husband of almost 50 years on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014. She was born July 7, 1936.
She was the third child of Enola Landry Amato and Joseph Amato. She is survived by her
five children: Renee Spires, David and wife Sabrina Bourgeois Heltz, Mark and wife Darlene Piglia Heltz, Rachele and husband Parrish Foote and Thomas Heltz. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Kristin, Courtney, Nicklaus, Allison, Taylor, Tanner, Austin, Mason, Tyler and Emily, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emile, her parents, Joseph and Enola Landry Amato, stepmother, Isabelle Rodrigue, two brothers, P.J. and Valfred Amato, and stepsister, Ada Mae Guidry.
Before starting her retirement, she worked at Flowers by Liz and at a medical office. Rosalie enjoyed singing and spent many years lending her voice to the St. Joseph’s Church choir. She was president of the Mother’s Club at St. Peter Chanel while her children attended school there. She was an active member of The Three Ells and the Catholic Daughters of America. Rosalie also enjoyed lending her talents to the St. Joseph’s Altar for many years. She will be terribly missed but her family and friends take comfort in the fact that she is once again united with Emile.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina at noon.
