GRAMERCY – The Lutcher Gramercy Lions Club-sponsored pumpkin patch has taken over the St. James Parish Welcome Center in Gramercy for the entire month of October, but it will truly take center stage in the area this weekend with the third annual Pumpkin Patch Classic.
The 5K run, which takes runners across the Veterans Memorial Bridge, begins at 9:15 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, but runners will be bused across the bridge at 9 a.m.
Registration is $20, with proceeds benefitting the Louisiana Lions League and the St. James Parish Law Enforcement Torch Run for Louisiana Special Olympics. All early registrants will receive a T-shirt.
Awards will be given to the top finishers, male and female, in each age division as well as to the overall winners. After the race, there will be entertainment, food and drinks.
Registration forms can be found at the St. James Parish Welcome Center, 1094 U.S. Highway 61, Gramercy. For more information, call 225-241-8357.
