Joseph Bluebeck Becnel was born Dec. 17, 1920, and passed away Oct. 14, 2013, at the age of 92. He was
a Veteran of WWII
and worked at Avon-dale Shipyard for 38 years.  
He will be greatly missed by his children: Francis (Barbara) Becnel, Robert (Debbie) Becnel, Molly (Kenneth) Levet and Rene (Evelyn) Becnel. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Jane B. Percle.  
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Irene Becnel; parents: Abel Becnel Sr. and Margueritte Falgoust Becnel; brothers: Abel Becnel Jr., Louis Becnel, Francois “Tony” Becnel and Joseph Marcel Becnel; sisters: Althe B. Rome, Delta B. Rodrigue, Anne Becnel, Thernica B. Becnel, Yvonne B. Percle, Marie B. Zeringue, Janet B. Folse and Mabel B. Guillot, and a grandson, Jamin F. Becnel.
Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
