Local dancer wins high honor

Ma Coi Hollins, a ninth-grade student at St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace, recently won Top First Place Overall Teen Soloist at Masquerade National Talent and Dance Competition in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.
She also received a special judges award and a platinum achievement. Hollins is a student of Dance Unlimited of the River Parishes under the artistic direction of Duanne Cazalot. She performed a tap routine to “I Gotcha” choreographed by Ma Que Hollins.
Hollins, 13, is the daughter of Quo Vadis and Carnell Hollins of LaPlace.
