Lutcher – St. James Parish Hospital was recently awarded grant funds from the Bayou Region Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
The grant will fund 40 free screening mammograms for indigent, uninsured and/or underinsured woman age 40 or over in St. James Parish. This also includes five free diagnostic mammograms and five free breast ultrasounds.  
St. James Parish Hospital leaders are actively involved with the Susan G. Komen Foundation through board memberships and committee positions for the foundation’s annual Race for the Cure. In addition, the hospital hosts a Pink Ribbon Event each year in which donations are accepted to help fund the program that offers grants to help those in need within the St. James Parish community.
