Road closures for Thursday, Aug. 29

LAPLACE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced alternating lane closures in St. John the Baptist Parish for pavement stripping.
The closures will begin on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m., and will take place in both the east and westbound lanes of Interstate 10, between mile post 207 and 209. Closures will continue until 4 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30. One lane in each direction will be open at all times. There will be no restrictions on oversized loads during these times.
 DOTD lists detour routes as follows: Westbound motorist may detour by exiting Interstate 10 at Exit 209 and travel south on U.S. Highway 51 to U.S. Highway 61. Motorists should continue north on U.S. 61 to Louisiana Highway 3188 (Belle Terre Boulevard), and then drive north on LA 3188 toward the junction of I-10.
Eastbound motorist can exit I-10 at Exit 206, then drive south on LA 3188 to U.S. 61. Motorists may continue south on U.S. 61 to the junction of U.S. 51, then drive north on U.S. 51 toward the junction of I-10.
