Second Ward High School class of 1963 holds 50th anniversary

Second Ward High School class of 1963 celebrated its 50th anniversary class reunion on the weekend of Aug. 3-4. Members in attendance were Charity Borne-Bovie, Curtis Bovie, Olivia Burrell-Bynum, Carol Sorapuru-Daliet, Barbara Gordon-Dumas, Claude Gordon, Ferdinand Jackson, Gloria Populus-Keller, Herbert LaGrange, Jeannette Bovie-Lagrange, Bernadette August-Narcisse, Ronald Samuel, Victoria Roussell-Schofield and Conrad Sorapuru.
On Saturday evening the group enjoyed a jazz cruise and dined on the Steamboat Natchez. Later, the group enjoyed music and dance at a birthday party honoring classmate Ferdinand Jackson. On Sunday, the group attended Mass at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church of Edgard. To close out the weekend celebration, the group enjoyed a backyard picnic at the home of classmate Ronald Samuel and was joined by class sponsor Rose Mathieu and her husband Lambert.
