St. Charles United Methodist Church, 14034 River Road, Destre-han, is hosting the annual Fall Craft Fair on Oct. 12, and welcoming crafters that would like to rent a booth. There will be both indoor and outdoor booths to choose from. It is a great time to have people come and do a little Christ-mas shopping or shopping for their holiday decorations. There will be pumpkins in the front yard, someone taking fall pictures for the family, pony rides and concessions for the crafters and shoppers. If interested in getting a booth call the church at 985-764-8292 or visit the website at www.stcharlesumc.com/craftfair.
Booths will be $40 for an indoor booth and $35 for an outside booth with an opportunity to also rent double booths, electricity and tables.
Proceeds of the Fall Pumpkin Patch are split between the Cuba and Mexico missions. The church sends teams to these countries to help with Vacation Bible Schools, Bible studies, construction of schools, churches and parsonages, medical missions and so on. They also collect food at the Craft Fair to help with the St. Matthew’s 25:35 Food Pantry. Food baskets are given to families that are referred as needing extra help with their food. For more information or to volunteer in any of these missions, call the church office at 985-764-8292.
The public is also invited to join St. Charles United Methodist Church in other ways. October is a family month at St. Charles United Methodist Church, and the Craft Fair is one part of this. They will be having their pumpkin truck unloading party on Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. Watch the signs in front of the church for details. On Oct. 19 the annual Christian Music Festival, Car Show and Games for the Children will be held. The church always hosts a Night Out Against Crime, Trunk or Treat and Blessing of the Pets. Call the church for details.
