Brent L. Tregre, 80, died peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Roddy Tregre, father of David B. Tregre (Melissa), grandfather of Christopher and Jenna Tregre, son of the late Henry (Kido) and Louise Maus Tregre and brother of Bruce Tregre (Jeanne).
Brent enjoyed life and was devoted to his family, faith and community. He was a community leader, serving as president of the St. John Police Jury and commissioner of the Port of South Louisiana Commission. He was a member and past grand knight of Msgr. Bergeron KC Council, past president of the LaPlace Lions Club and Jaycees, member of the American Legion and VFW, St. Joan of Arc Pastorial Council president and graduate of LSU
and was retired from Shell Oil in Norco. He was a native of Reserve and a resident of LaPlace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. Fifth St., LaPlace, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to The Msgr. Vincent School Endowment. Arrangements are by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home of LaPlace.
