God has a plan for everyone

Attending a couple of Bible sharing meetings each week helps me
in many ways. It gives me encouragement to live a better Christian life because of the promises of God. It forces me to be more honest with myself and helps me to develop
and maintain a better relationship with other men who have a desire
to have Jesus as the Lord of their lives.
One of the by-products of these meetings is that it gives me material for some of my articles. A prime example is our last Friday morning meeting. As we spoke about wisdom and making good choices, Wade Trosclair of Garyville spoke about a decision he made 40 years ago. It was a choice he had to make about either buying a new Corvette or getting married. “I chose to get married,” he said.
Someone jokingly said, “If you had bought the car, you could have traded it in.” Wade soberly said, “I’ve had many cars since then, and they are all gone. But Terri has been faithful and has loved me unconditionally, which has always been my strength. We’ve had some trying times (mostly because of my destructive lifestyle), but she has been the reason our marriage has survived.”
Wade met Terri, originally from Albuquerque, N.M., in Vallejo, Calif., while serving in the U.S. Navy. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and today
are enjoying life more than ever. They are the proud parents of
three children and seven grandchildren.
Wade is an active member of
his community and church. More than a year ago, he and Bret Acosta (now deceased) organized the Tuesday morning Bible sharing group in Garyville. He along with a few men from the group and others just finished painting the church building. A core group of some of these men and other church members are in the process of raising money to put a new roof on the church.
I personally don’t believe God can ever be more pleased than seeing men getting excited about working to promote His Kingdom.
Yes, it’s been 40 years since that Corvette was stranded in a car dealership’s display window by Wade, but with the wisdom of God he chose what the Bible says is a good thing – his wife, Terri.
If anyone ever questions what God has done or is doing, in Wade’s life, all you have to do is look at the glow his 90-year-old mother, Ethel, has when Wade’s name is mentioned.
