Wilbert J. Ocmond Sr., 88, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of the late Therese Oubre Ocmond, father of Wilbert Ocmond Jr. (Dolly), Nathan Ocmond (Joan), Brent Ocmond (Karen), Marsha Martin (the late Kim) and Nancy Ocmond and grandfather of Brandon, Raina, Dr. Cullen, Scott, Robbie, Jonathan, Shaun, Ian, Joshua, Marcus, Elisha, Troy and Jeremy Ocmond, Brandilynn Robichaux, Heidi House, Ryan Martin and Mindy Kuhn. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Antoine and Marie Tamplain Ocmond and brother of Gillespi Ocmond, Myrna Cox and the late Alice Waguespack, Claude Ocmond, Oneil Ocmond and Antoine Ocmond Jr.

He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a WWII Army veteran and retired from Godchaux Sugar Refinery and Winn Dixie. He was a native and resident of Garyville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services. Visitation will be held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.
