River Region Drama Guild’s Summer Theatre Workshop will be held July 8-11 and 15-18, 6:30–8:30 p.m., at the River Region Performing Arts and Cultural Center, 15146 River Road, Good Hope.
The workshop will focus on ensemble building, trust, observation, self-confidence, concentration, imagination and creativity. The fundamental basics of theater and providing a well-rounded academic, educational experience of drama will be introduced to all. Everyone regardless of ability and experience will be given an opportunity to be involved. Participants will experience theater as a creative and critical thinking process that will help foster a healthy self-concept, develop intra-personal skills, clarify perceptions of the world and nurture an awareness of themselves as physical, social and creative beings. The final evening will be a public performance demonstrating the skills learned in the workshop.
The workshop is open to young people ages 8 and up and is free of charge. No preregistration is required. Contact Henry Sorbet at 504-331-0990 for additional information.
