West bank honors students commended

EDGARD – The West St. John Civic Association held its fourth annual honors banquet recently at West St. John High School’s gymnasium.
The banquet honored the students of West St. John High and Elementary schools who made their school’s honor roll, all of whom received a 3.0 grade point average or above.
The first-grade honorees were: Danaysia Armant, Ka Lee Augusta, AAkilah Bailey, Amon Broden, Jamaal Commine, Ty’Kia Dumas, J’Ron Hines, Devin Jackson, Jade Jackson, Brandon Jones, Serena Johnson, JaKiryn Johnson, Rianna Lewis, Keonne Lockett, Christian Milton, London Priestly, Kendi Robinson, Jaida Roussell, MaKayla Rousseve, Da Jontell Scott, Anaya Shepherd, Cortlan Shepherd, Kylin Smith, Kadair Temple, Rontrell Turner and Caden Williams.
The second- and third-grade honorees were: Christian Bailey, Kae Dyn Bailey, Teanna Bailey, Ty Ray Bartholomew, Jaci Donald, Kailee Edwards, Skylar Edwards, Jaymon Jasmine, Azari Ruffin and Tyler Wesley; Jason August Jr., Jacob Bailey, Nyree Bailey, Re Sean Baker, Madison Dinvaut, Lai Ron Jackson, Paige Johnson, Gabrielle Mitchell, Ty’Jon Monroe, Lyric Rousseve and Amari Smith.
The fourth-grade honorees were: Dalaysia Armant, Jahmal Bailey, Jared Bernard, Jordan Coleman, Tylar Edwards, Carvente Favorite, Alaya Hilaire, Kaejean Kindrick, Lmijah Lumar, Kadance Shepherd, Ty’Reion Smith, Jniyah Sorapuru, Kyli Vontoure and Amaya Williams.
The fifth- and sixth-grade honorees were: Cairon Becnel, Savon Bridges, Alan Burl III and Ria Red; Covan barnes, Tre’SHon Barnes, Alaney Favo-rite, Talika Howard, Amyri Lopez, La Daja Populis, Maya Sanders and Glasia Walker.
The eighth- and ninth-grade honorees were: Kira Armant, Burnell Hall, Kasia Lewis, Keiana Miller, Von’tre Miller, Ja’Quisha Oates and Paige Young; Tre’Von Barnes, Nicholas Borne, Zoe Lyn Bryant, Lamore Boudoin, Brianna Carter, Corin Ellis, Markell Francois, Malik Gaudet, Alante Gauthier, D’Myriah Herbert, Christina Holmes, Alasia Narcisse, Alize Roussell, Maya Trench, Dyrianne Tuckerson and Jalon Young.
The 10th- and 11th-grade honorees were: Lanyzha Brown, Jalaya Coleman, Quantae Gaudia, Lyre Jones, Erron Lewis Jr., JaJuan Nicholas, Michael Sanders, Kaieonne Sorapuru and Trashaun Trench; Kylon Adams, Whitley Armant, Elexi Bailey, Ebonie Bethancourt, Rechelle Cannon, Justice Feist, Jordan Hamilton, Austin Howard, Brandon Matthews, Ariel Mitchell, Dehaven Rousseve, Latrica Shepherd and Rahsaan Smith.
The 12th-grade honorees were: Eric Bell, Joshua Borne, Micah Claiborne, Tameka Dennis, Shelby Fallen, Deja Feist, Jade Francois, Keirston Gautier, Jaylyn Gordon, Dalina Gillard, JeNada Ketchens, Danae Lumar, Jerenika Mott, Jalen Nicholas, Davonte Numa, Tayler Pierre, Kia Roybiskie, Tatyana Smith, Asasha Terry and Jasmine Thomas.
“The association would like to thank everyone who earned a spot. We hope that next year even more students will be here, because a good education is the key to a better tomorrow. This is the vision of the West St. John Civic Association. This is our purpose,” said Mary Johnson, treasurer of the West. St. John Civic Association. The goal of the West Bank Civic Association is to help make St. John the Baptist Parish a place “where everyone would want to live.”
The organization lends a helping hand in community relations, government and education.
